Bonfire and Burn Permit Applications - Corrected

Village sign

The Jewish Holiday of Lag BaOmer begins Saturday evening, May 25th.  As part of the celebration, some people will be having parties with bonfires on Saturday or Sunday evening.

The Village requires a Burn Permit for such fires.  The permit application is reviewed by our Fire Inspector who assesses the proposed fire for safety and will issue a burn permit if he determines that it will not endanger the owner's or neighbors properties.  The Village will accept burn permit applications until 4:00pm, Tuesday, May 21st.  There is no charge for a Burn Permit.  To download a Burn Permit Application, click here

I would also like to ask all celebrants to respect their neighbors.  Please note that the Village's noise law specifically addresses the use of sound systems that are "plainly audible at a real property boundary" and prohibits their use after 10:00pm.  To review the noise law, click here.

Best regards,

Marshall Katz, Mayor
